Visit to MSC innovation centre

They provides training and help to IT knowledge worker and Multimedia development for Malaysia. Bridging the gap between Institute of Higher Learning and industry(What they said).

Virtual Reality centre. Three special coated white screens. Three big bulky projectors for the left right and centre portions of the circular screen surface. 90Hz refresh rates projectors. Special computers with 4 graphic cards(2GB memory) as big as a motherboard.

I thought it would be a 3D experience with the active stereographic glasses(actively close and open for left and right glasses according to the signal it received). Instead the demonstrator sit on a special armchair with the controllers and lead us through the virtual Putrajaya city. Fly up fly down. Speeding. Good for city planning and disaster evacuation. Even has the simulation of rising water level. Though not accurately calculated. Similar to something like Google Earth which can be rendered with normal pc =.=

And show us the flight simulator and virtual autopsy. Can see the bones broken etc. And lastly is the Saladin trailer. Everything from character design and storyboard is done by Malaysian. Not bad. The faces of people is polygon style like the ice age movie. What's really matters is the storyline though realistic graphic is a plus. Ahem ahem Wall-E.

Visit to HP

time: 9.30am-4.30pm
location: Cyberjaya

Learnt a lot about the company. So they use Oracle and MS SQL database. C++ and J2EE. Windows and UNIX-like system. They have their own propriety Unix OS called HP-UX. Uh huh.

Talk about the expansion in Cyberjaya and the company footprint in many places in Malaysia and overseas. Able to keep improving oneself and request for training etc. Should be able to work at other country if join these MNC.

And talk about data centre at US(if still remember correctly), the size of 20(?) football fields. Toink.

What they did in Cyberjaya is to develop the application system and improve/update the system for HP. Mostly about the management and resource flow worldwide. User requirements come from HP people from the whole world. And work in a team.

They even have a ping pong table and darts there. Work hard play hard. Multinational corporation(MNC) style.

Attitute

Lecturer asked me to go assist him on the mid term test. Alright no problem.

Rush to dinner and then rush back to the COIT. No people can be seen at the exam hall. Called him. Time changed. Said that he pasted the information on his room door. Argghhh...

There goes one and a half hour that should have been allocated for final year project report writing.

too many things to attend to. Mid terms, final year project, labs..

Worse is the project. Too many unknown. If I were going to develop system for the rural area, have to go into forest and interview? Might as well change my system scope.

Compression. Encode in 64 bit better than binary??

Data and Computer Security test

Realize something. I won't be a successful cryptanalysis or cracker. Always mess up with the shifting characters when try to decrypt cipher. Nearly left blank for the three decryption questions.

Caesar cipher. I go analyze the frequency and arrangement of the characters. Then try to shift accordingly. Did not come to my mind that decryption require me to shift backwards. And I can get the answer by treat it like a Caesar cipher. Doink.

The ASCII encryption with the keys. I do the calculation with 127 instead of 128. Don't know why I like the number so much..

Ends with my holiday.. So fast.
Wasted most of the holiday watching tv shows and playing games. =.="

5 minutes then show advertisement. And the annoying malay narration. Vrahhhh..

And the BOB camera director also. Keep showing the building bird’s eye view for what? Not even show the face of the group singers. Where or which is Rain? Jay Chou?

So long no play this board game. Viwawa recently introduced chinese chess into the game list. With killing animation. lol. There goes half of the day. Enjoy while torturing people and feel insulted when losing to level one. =.=

Aftermath

Asking for direction from another passenger. Lead me to the main road. Offer to fetch me. Well, decided to take bus/taxi instead.

The explosion noise is coming from the connector of the train compartments in the middle.
The train going to split into half and fall down? WTF?

I wonder why the pregnant lady beside me is so quiet....
