臺北之旅

从一开始的不知所措（寻找捷运M3出口）到后来渐渐学来的台湾腔（“超扯的”）。台北县是让人很快适应融入的地方。

无处不在的“全家”、7-eleven便利店、随处可见的书店、扭开电视就看到大学生了没、康熙来了、店员的“欢迎光临”、“谢谢”、Jay餐厅有沙发的洗手间、捷运与客运上的博爱座、野柳的石头、九分的细雨、淡水的狂风、海报上的狂贺、某人的“狂谢”，每一天都充满惊喜。

活着就该出去闯一闯。下一站去哪里？

国父纪念馆匆匆一瞥: 沧桑的历史、两岸迥然不同的风景。甲午战争原来是从琉球（冲绳）开始的。弱者永远没有发言权，历史是强者写的。

随家人驱车前往新加坡
比飞机慢了挺多
想当年写完白色入境卡就降陆了

沿途休息站
充斥着中国游客
对贩卖的紫色火龙果啧啧称奇
呵呵

去年的所见所闻仍然历历在目
充当家人的临时导游随处走走
牛车水、Clarke Quay、圣淘沙、 Orchard

少了新鲜感
多了观察的闲情

与马来西亚相比
路牌大多换成英文
街道清洁
驾车人士友善
人们穿着时尚
步行跑步的人多了
可以饮用的自来水
公共交通方便
货币购买能力强（人人都负担得起iphone 4）

当然也有特别的一面
时速限制低（最快80km/h? 马路沿途设Speeding Cam，大家都好乖）
大政府政策（强迫子女还教育费给父母等）
拥车费用高（大部分人被迫使用公共交通，地铁由北到南需要一个小时）
人造景观（或许下次应前往非游客区逛逛）

很久没静静地欣赏这片蓝天白云、青葱的大树
从不间断、唧唧的虫鸣声


开窗既是森林~

饶了度假村一圈
有点感慨
猴子、被抓起来关在笼子里
四脚蛇、也逃不过相同的命运，被人用四片铁片围起来供人观赏
入口处、光秃秃的，被砍光了......
我们也是帮凶啊？

p/s: 话说我们拿着相机猛拍：蓝天白云、夕阳。砂拉越的天空比较蓝？回来后发现：是我们平日忙盲茫，没抬头欣赏。今天的云也很美。=)

上了三个月半的初级日语课
被告知老师合约结束要回日本了
昨天是最后的复习课
中段的休息时间大家都好静
是我想太多了吗？

最后免不了来个大合照
可怜新老师被忽略暂时沦为摄影师
"Chee-zhi!" (日本人照相喜欢说Cheese。呵呵。)

Japanese ice cream. Unique taste. Delicious. Green tea covering the red beans inside.

One of the highlight for the night is that during the end of the event, we stumbled upon 3 kids wearing yukata. Someone suggested to take picture with them.

I overheard that one of the kid is speaking japanese on her mobile phone, "doko?". I step forward, and speak, "Anata wa nihon-jin desu ka?" (Are you a japanese?) The most amazing thing happen. She understood what I asked and response with a yes.

And then I just stand there thinking what to speak next. LOL. No idea how to say "take picture together with us".

My attempt, "Kamera..."(Camera) *hand gesture to represent taking picture, pressing the shutter button.*

Anyhow, this is an amazing outing. Abandon the aircon and comfortable japanese restaurant and squeeze and queue up in a crowded and hot environment just to eat the same food and watch the performance. Fun!

IBM Websphere Application Server 7 Training

Get to attend IBM training again these few days. It's always nice to break out of usual work routine.

Technical stuff:
Java EE is very complicated. EJB3, JPA, SOA, ESB, BPEL... Yea, they are "open standards" backed up by Sun and IBM. But there are open source libraries tools that try to scratch the same itch too. Personally, I would use whatever that works and cost me less time to learn and setup.

Being too high level and abstract means it would be a nightmare to troubleshoot when errors occurred. It's definitely nice to generate entity POJO and input forms in JSF with a few clicks though.

Setup clustering is as easy as typing a few commands. That's the difference between a free and paid solution I guess.

IBM DB2 XML Bootcamp

Get a chance to attend the IBM DB2 Seminar recently. It's a 3 days course.


The thick book that supposed to be covered in 3 days...
It's about how IBM database supports XML document (searching, query, indexing, optimization) natively. The instructor is from India. Need some time to get used to his slang.


They would actually queue up for the lift during peak hours. Not uncommon to see people rushing to the lift carrying his/her laptop with the lid halfway closing also.

IBM Plaza is a nice and comfortable place.
Walking distance to 1 Utama. Nice to walk around during lunch and after work. Still haven't bored of it yet. A good escape from usual work routine. =)

Pasar malam Mont Kiara

Heard from colleague that there will be a pasar malam on Thursday night at Plaza Mont Kiara. It is just few steps away from the office. Go and walk around after work.

At home:
Parents: High class place pasar also sell high class bread. So expensive. Next time don't buy.
My inner voice: As long as it is delicious.. Just 10 bucks anyway. =P

Walked past a korean food stall. And they are koreans! It's fun to be able to talk to them in English. They are selling fried balls with all kinds of meat inside. And a small bowl with brown rice.
